This is such a beautiful render, and you almost had me convinced that you are a photographer with a really cooperative pet butterfly. I love how the light shines through the butterfly's wings and how the shallow (narrow?) depth of field brings out the Coke bottle and creates a sense of distance in the scene.
The only thing that I think needs fixing is the texture on the leaves, which is most noticeable on the leaf with the raindrop running off and the big leaf to the right of it. The texture is too pebbly, and it reminds me of the bumpy glass on cheap shower doors. Shiny leaves that I have noticed on real plants tend to be smooth, whereas bumpy or rough leaves tend to not be shiny. I think that if you keep the bumpiness of the leaves but get rid of the shininess, it will create a really cool texture contrast with the bottle and water drops.
Congrats on the DD and the feature man! Your work is astounding. Are you doing 3rd year this year or have you finished at Animation School? Keep doing what you love and you'll get far in the industry. Cheers. Lizelle Levengood
Ps, check out Legion ink ([link]) and Open Art scetch meets ([link]) The next Legion meet is this Saturday at 10:00 am at Primi at the V&A Waterfront .( [link] ) Bring a scetch book and come make conections with peeps in the industry. Contact Danelle [link] or Ben [link] for more info.
